Andrea Lamberti to Moderate Resilient Future Panel Talk

On November 1st, Rafael Viñoly Architects Partner and 2022 AIA New York President, Andrea Lamberti will moderate a panel discussion on how New York City and the greater region have slowly increased their resiliency to coastal storms and their impacts ten years after Hurricane Sandy, and what is needed now to create a resilient future that adapts to climate change — from coastal storms to extreme severe heat and extreme rainfall — and ensure the well-being of the city’s most vulnerable residents.

Organized by the AIANY and the Regional Plan Association, this forward-looking event aims to consider a post-Sandy vision of resilience for New York City that places a greater focus on community voices over top-down planning; corrects historic injustices of the past while investing in the future; and incorporates more nature-based approaches.
