Almirante Brown Hospital

Almirante Brown Hospital

Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina

1971 26,319 m²

In this case, site characteristics resulted in fewer natural opportunities for glazing than in the La Rioja Regional Hospital or in other previous projects requiring substantial modification of the hospital system. Distribution of functional spaces around a very large central courtyard allowed the introduction of more light into inner areas of the building. This design was also notable for closely integrating a parking facility facing the hospital’s main floor across a sunken roadway adjacent to the site; the bridge-like connection became an entry plaza for those arriving by car.
